Andrea Millares was born in Romania, Transylvania, in 1982.
When she was three years old she moved to the South of
Sweden along with her family. There she attended church
regularly and would listen to an older lady who played
classical music on the piano. That same lady ended up giving
her piano lessons later on once she turned eight. Her
teacher was very strict, and practice was of course a
requirement. Like any other child, practicing wasn’t
Andrea's favorite thing to do. But she continued anyway,
finally learning to love it as she improved. She started
playing piano in church regularly, and later on began to
sing and compose her own music.
During seventh grade Andrea started attending a music class
where she loved to play and sing with her friends. Choosing
the right high school wasn't hard whatsoever. She knew
exactly what she wanted to study – music. Although she
enjoyed many of the other classes, vocal and piano lessons
became her top priority. Andrea could stay up for hours late
at night just composing music. She says: “I remember my last
year in high school. Every single night I would play the
piano. I felt so much joy and peace in doing what I love to
do.”
Soon enough high school was over. Andrea was finally
graduating from the school where she had broadened her
knowledge, and learnt vital new things about music. Another
chapter of life was over, and a new one started in the fall
2001. Andrea decided to travel up to a Christian school for
one year to study the Bible. While she was there she
composed a lot more music, sang in the choir, and enjoyed
the time she spent with her friends.
Once the year was over Andrea moved back to south of Sweden,
where her parents live. She studied Science of Health for a
year but later on realized how much she missed music. She
had been singing and playing all her life, and now that she
wasn’t something big inside her was missing. She decided to
apply to Music School and was thrilled to learn she had been
accepted. Four and a half years later (2008) she graduated
obtaining a Masters degree in Music Education.
While Andrea was still studying, some of her friends who
worked at LifeStyleTV in Sweden, asked her if she would like
to record her songs in USA. She immediately replied that she
would. Her dream came true December 2006 when she actually
traveled to America. One week before the recordings
she got a really bad cold. She says: “I was so sick I
thought I would have to cancel everything and fly back to
Sweden. But somehow the day when we were going to record, I
was totally fine. Couldn't have felt any better! It really
was a miracle.”
Andrea recorded ten of her own songs at the Sound Centre of
Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN), Illinois and now
has a CD that is available to buy online. She continues her
passion for the glory of God. Her album “There is Someone”
confirms the fact that in this world of suffering and pain
there still is Someone who cares, loves, understands, sees
and hears.
After graduation, Andrea worked at LifeStyleTV with
administration, and also was the music coordinator there. In
May 2008, Andrea got married to Dan Millares. Two years
later they moved to another city where Andrea worked as a
music teacher in a school for one year. She was also a piano
teacher during her free time and led the church choir.
After one and half years, in 2011, Andrea and Dan found a
house in the country and moved back to South of Sweden. Now
Andrea is expecting a baby! She works as a kinder garden
teacher until the baby comes.
Andrea
is composing music in her studio and planning a new CD.
